WildVoice Studio is a stylish and attractive podcast tool designed and distributed by WildVoice, a podcasting community that ceased to exist in the fall of 2009. The idea behind this utility was to offer you a single tool which you could use to both create and post your audio files through the site. WildVoice allows you to record, mix, edit, and publish your own audio shows using a pro-looking and easy-to-navigate interface.
The program’s main interface offers you all its audio recording and mixing capabilities. Here you will find the Show Builder (a recording engine with a waveform graphic display), the Mixer (to mix the sound coming from the microphone with any sound effect or background track), the Sound FX panel (with 25+ funny and interesting effects ranging from a burp to a dentist drill), and a Background Tracks section, where you can list selected AIFF, MP3, Ogg, and WAV files and have them ready for use during the show.
Once your recording is ready, you can polish it using the clipping tool provided. Thus, you can easily leave out those sections you are not happy with. Originally, the final MP3 file could be uploaded to WildVoice directly from here - now you can always save it and publish it in any other podcast community. Even though the site has been reduced to a not-very-active blog, WildVoice Studio is still there available for downloading and creating your own shows. You can always take advantage of the recording and mixing possibilities that this free program offers you, not to mention its more than attractive collection of sound effects. If you podcast them or not afterwards, that is your choice.
